The lab features the latest in motion capture technology, virtual reality equipment, and custom devices developed at Central Michigan University.
Research focuses on virtual rehabilitation, human development, biomechanical modeling, motor control, and the development of quantification tools for clinical use.
X-Ray Diffraction Lab
Our XRD Lab features a PANalytical diffractometer and tools for solid-state material preparation and treatment. Equipped with advanced workstations, we process XRD data and model 3D structures.
We've conducted extensive studies on materials for energy storage (batteries), clean energy conversion (fuel cells), water & ice, minerals, polymers, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, and more.

The Center for Merchandising & Design Technology (CMDT) offers product development and testing services for small and mid-sized companies.
From ideation through market launch, product performance, and thermal comfort, the CMDT provides quantitative data according to AATCC, ASTM & ISO standards & industry requirements.
Drone Lab
Drone Lab
The CMU Drone Lab provides special access to over 30 different drones, education around the regulations surrounding drone flight, necessary preparations required to fly a drone, and instruction on how to do so.
As part of the program, you will prepare for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certification, a necessary component to earning your drone pilot's license.
